Knotty Alder
A knotty alder vanity with a seated make-up station, quartz top and toe-kick lighting over marble tile.
Alder is a softer, warmer hardwood than maple or oak and it stains beautifully, which is why it suits a bathroom where the cabinetry is the only wood in the room. The doors are a raised panel with a mitred frame and the drawer fronts carry the same detail, in a mid brown stain that sits against the marble floor without competing with it.
The run is planned around a knee-hole make-up station, with a shallow pencil drawer above it and a bank of deep drawers to the right of the sink. Toe-kick lighting under the whole vanity is set into the base rather than surface mounted, and the quartz top returns up the wall as a low splash.
