White Oak
Slate-painted perimeter cabinetry set against a natural white oak island, with a glass-front display run for everyday china.
The perimeter is finished in a deep slate that reads almost black under the recessed lighting, which is exactly what lets the natural white oak island sit forward in the room. The island is built as a furniture piece, with turned legs, an open end shelf for baking dishes and a single deep drawer, so it works as a table as much as a work surface.
Along the far wall a full-height glass-front cabinet keeps everyday bowls and china on show. The hood is cased in the same slate as the cabinetry with a light oak band that ties it back to the island. Everything is solid hardwood, dovetailed and hand finished in six steps.
Every project on this page was measured, made and installed by the same team.
